I'm Back!

Prior to the Easter holidays I had debated about whether or not I would take a little break from the blog to recharge so to speak. However, the decision was taken from my hands when my brother fell ill on April 7th. I won’t go into detail, suffice to say it was been an extremely worrying couple of weeks and I am beyond grateful to be able to say now that my little brother, while still in hospital, is on the road to recovery and that light at the end of the tunnel is firmly in view. Naturally enough this little space made it’s way to the back of my mind as my family and I were focusing on the situation at hand.

As things get back to normal I will be present here once again with recipes, reviews, random thoughts and regular updates.

So, what did I miss sharing with you?

  • Despite all that was going on we did manage to do an Easter Tree and of course the Easter Bunny came.
  • I also got a little bit of gardening done and I’ve planted some wild flower seeds with more to scatter still. I’m hoping to attract lots of butterflies and bees, our poor bees are in trouble and we need them!

  • We’ve also planted some herbs and salad leaves; and Mr. Simply Homemade is currently getting some raised beds prepared for us to grow some more food!
  • My beautiful Cherry Blossom has made me smile every day, it’s a shame they don’t last a little longer.
  • I had a visit to the hospital myself over the holidays, nothing to worry about, but quite the visit. A rather tall nurse told me I had very short legs……..Thanks love, tell me something I don’t know!

The last day of the holidays was the only day we actually got to do anything with the children. We went out to Curracloe and went for a ramble through Raven Woods. The small people were hoping to see monkeys and maybe even a gorilla……alas they had to make do with birds and the odd butterfly!

I hope you all had a lovely Easter break, it’s good to be back here, not least because it means my brother is on his way back to good health.

Look after yourselves, you never know what tomorrow will bring.
