What Caught My Eye

What Caught My Eye #30

The same thing caught everyone’s eye this past week, Ophelia who has had Brian hot on her heels. We’re not used to such atrocious weather in Ireland, manky yes, we’re well used to manky weather but not life-threatening hurricanes. Really, we should consider ourselves very lucky I guess.

Last Monday during Hurricane Ophelia the Rosslare Harbour RNLI Rosslare RNLI launched to rescue three men onboard a 10m yacht after they issued a Mayday call. I’m not going to go on a rant about treacherous weather conditions being widely forecast and people failing to take responsible actions. Instead, let’s focus on the sheer bravery of these volunteers who risk their lives to save others while friends and family wait for them to arrive back home safely. The video footage from this rescue is heart in mouth stuff.

Later on this week the Rosslare Harbour RNLI were overwhelmingly voted as the October South East Radio Talbot Hotel Wexford Outstanding Award Winners and deservedly so I think you’ll agree.

One of the best nights of the year in Wexford fell victim to the weather this week, but fear not the annual fireworks will go ahead on the closing night of the festival, November 5th.

Have any of you ever used or currently use crystals? I found this piece very interesting and am curious to learn more.

My Nana has sworn by the health benefits of garlic forever, she’s in her 80’s and is a legend so it must be true but if you’re in any doubt check out what Laura has to say about this fabulous ingredient.

This recipe from for Seasonal Fruit Parfait from Only Natural looks delicious, seasonal & comforting, exactly what is in order this weekend.
