Have you heard of FoMo? No, well neither had I until last week. FoMo is the ‘Fear of Missing out’, you learn somehting new everyday.
Last week, 20th – 26th October, was National Parents Week, no I didn’t know that either, too busy with the children to realise!! Netflix were encouraging Mums to take a bit of time out for themselves, alone or with partners or friends, catch up on some viewing or better still start watching some of the great shows they have on, Orange is the New Black, is getting some super reviews; and combat the terror that is #FoMo. I might be a bit late joining the time out party, but I like the way Netflix are thinking, the kids are on mid -term, our days are a little more relaxed and I have things I want to watch.
One of the handy things with Netflix is the ‘My List’ feature, you see something you want to watch but haven’t time right now, add it to your list and it’s there ready when you are and saves you having to look for it. My list is getting quite long, with movies, drama’s and documentaries.
One of the documentaries I’d earmarked to watch was the highly acclaimed, Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead. If ever there was a show to encourage you to eat your greens this is it. At the centre of this documentary is Joe Cross, an Australian man who is 100lbs overweight, suffers a debilitating autoimmune disease and is having to overload his body with medication, he’s had enough and embarks on a journey to regain his health through his diet. On his way he meets American, Phil Staples and encourages & inspires him to take the same journey with amazing results for both of them. If you are interested in food & diet and making improvements to your health, I would highly recommend you add this to your Netflix list and find time to watch it.
I’m highly impressed with the documentaries Netflix has to offer and have added others such as Foodmatters, Hungry For Change, Vegucated & the Ted Talks series to my must see list.
As a member of the Netflix Ireland Stream Team I have received a complimentary one year Netflix membership along with an Apple Tv. I will in turn be featuring Netflix related blog posts. All opinions are my own!
