We are at the point of wondering how we managed before we had Netflix, between us all, it’s on much more often that ‘regular’ tv; really, it is our regular tv!
The children took it over for the summer, the monkeys. Mind you, considering the dismal weather we had at times one could hardly blame them!
Abbie and Harry can’t get enough of the shows for them, it’s often a tough decision trying to decide what to watch! They both love The Mother Goose Club. I have to admit, I’m quite pleased we found this. It has a myriad of songs that we all know and some new ones too. For Harry who has some speech difficulty, learning the songs from this has really helped him as he can’t help but try and sing along.
They’ve also been watching Max & Ruby, Caillou, The Care Bears, My Little Pony and A Goofy Movie to name a few.
Harry has also discovered Netflix brand new series, Dino Trux, half dinosaur, half truck! Check out the trailer, I suspect this is going to be popular with many kids.
For the older children Project Mc2 puts a new spin on the dreaded homework! Caoimhe’s watched this and said it’s really good, she’s hoping for more episodes.
Caoimhe has also been enjoying Bindi’s Bootcamp; a children’s game show hosted by the late crocodile hunter Steve Iriwin’s daughter.
Back to school means back to bed early for the children which also means Mr. Simply Homemade and I should actually get to sit down, relax and catch up on our own viewing – we live in hope anyway! We have been watching a couple of excellent shows, Bates Motel and I have started watching The Good Wife – I know – way late to that, but better late than never right??
And then there’s Narcos, Netlix’s newest crime drama. This is truly fascinating viewing, we started watching this last week. I have to be honest, I wasn’t all that sure this would be my cup of tea but I’m hooked! It’s brilliant.
This raw, gritty series chronicles the gripping real-life stories of the drug kingpins of the late 1980s and the corroborative efforts of law enforcement to meet them head on in brutal, bloody conflict. It details the many, often-conflicting forces – legal, political, police, military and civilian – that clash in the effort to control cocaine, one of the world’s most valuable commodities.
What have you and your family been watching? And, what shows would you recommend to see us through the incoming autumnal nights?
As a member of the Netflix Ireland Stream Team I have received complimentary Netflix membership and in return will be featuring Netflix related blog posts. All opinions are my own!
