The good folk at Netflix have the most wonderful knack of coming to the rescue during times of woe.
After a miserable few weeks, there was fierce excitement the other day when the postman left us a humongous parcel.
Seeing the box adorned with red ribbon, the tween thought I was after going wild and buying something fancy for himself, what with it being the Valentine’s Weekend.
I hadn’t! The box was a lovely gift from Netflix, with some lovely treats and the softest, snuggliest blanket we have ever had the pleasure of curling up under.*
The mission included, should we choose to accept it, was to gather as many friends and family that we could fit under the blanket for a #NetflixNightIn.
And accept it we did, and last night we had a lovely night with Toy Story on Netflix (all three movies streaming now, very popular in our house), popcorn and our snuggly blanket.
Here we are, well except me, I was on popcorn/camera duty for the photo.
In the photo we have Mr. Simply Homemade, the Cuddlemonster with his pals Bunny, Bobby Cat and Teddy, then we have the big boy, who at the Cuddlemonster’s insistence is looking after Fudge the dog, the teen and the Fairy are next with friends Lamby & Bella Rosie and lastly we have the tween who has been very poorly all week and so is seeking comfort from her teddy friend. Now I know to us grown up folk, soft toys are that, toys *but* when you are the tender ages of 2 & 3 and you have watched the Toy Story Trilogy countless times on Netflix and you have seen what happens to Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Bullseye, Slinky, Mr & Mrs Potato Head etc when Andy isn’t around, you believe with all your little heart that these toys are real, they are your friends, the keepers of your secrets; the ones who join you for #NetflixNightIn, the ones who make up the numbers, the ones that mean there are 13 under the blanket…….
*The huge blanket has been the perfect plaything today too, it makes the biggest, bestest tent!!!
