Easter Crafts

The children have decided that we are making more of an effort for Easter this year. It’s not a time of year we’ve really gone over board on before but apparently now we are going to decorate the house and make more of a fuss, or so my children tell me!

This started this weekend with some crafting. Two of the girls and the Cuddlemonster made some pretty cards. They did turn out lovely.

However, it was the next craft where the real fun began. A couple of weeks ago I entered a competition on one of my favourite blogs, Three Sons Later, and I won an egg dying kit. We had such fun with this today, it was actually one of the most relaxing crafts I have ever done. Myself and my middle girl did it together, she absolutely loved it too. We’ll definitely be sourcing more of these kits.

We mixed colours, moved shells from one colour to another, tilted shells so we had various shades of the same colour; it was such good fun.

We put some into a clear vase with a simple Easter ribbon tied around it and sat it on a shelf in our hall. We’re contemplating adding some daffodils to this, though I do quite how it looks with a candle flickering behind it.

I have a bowl sitting on the console table that played host to some pine cones and fragrant dried orange slices throughout the winter months. I wasn’t sure what to replace them with for Springtime, problem solved, we filled it with some more of the beautiful colourful egg shells.

I can’t put into words how much enjoyment we had with this craft. If you happen to find some egg decorating dye, snap it up, I promise you won’t regret it!

Head over to Three Sons Later and search for Easter where you will find some fabulous crafts, including some stunning eggs, this post here even has a beautiful egg shell being used as a vase! It is simply stunning.

  1. Thanks for the mention Nicola. The set only costs 70 cent here, so I can send you more if you can’t find any locally.
You and your daughter have done a fab job with the eggs. The cards are very cute too.
