Last year having read this post from Fiona at Dolly Dowsie we placed a ‘Happiness Jar’ on the table in the sitting room. The idea being that when something good happened or we simply had a nice day, we would make a note of it and place the note in the jar and on New Years Day this year, we would go through the notes and reflect on the good times and not the bad.
Having not had the best of times personally for the latter half of 2015, it was a pleasure to have the jar to open on the 1st of January and reminisce about the happier times.
We were reminded of many lovely family moments, days out; quality time spent together. I was reminded of the wonderful afternoon I spent with fellow bloggers Danielle from Lilliwhiterose and Emily from The Nest; of the pride my family felt when Simply Homemade made the final of the Irish Parenting Blog Awards. And of course, the pride Mr. Simply Homemade & I felt at the children’s various different achievements.
We decided there and then that this is something we must do again this year and so when the jar was empty, we placed it back in it’s place waiting to be filled with happy moments from 2016.
Has anyone else kept a Happiness Jar or similar? I’d love to hear about it if you have.
