The 8th annual Wexford Food Festival is currently underway in Wexford. We spent the best part of today wandering the many exhibitor stands and soaking up the atmosphere.
The sun was shining, music was playing, people were in good spirits; Wexford is happy this weekend!
We started the day at the south end of the town, where there was a varied selection of food producers.
One of the most impressive was Kilkenny based Cake Face Pastry. The selection of desserts available were simply stunning. We did buy some, along with an amazing selection of marshmallows. I can highly recommend the Wexford Strawberries & Cream dessert, it is a seriously delectable delight!
The Bullring was an absolute hive of activity, where the heart of the town catered for everyone.
The fairy was in her element here having her face painted.
Food Rescue were serving complimentary dishes in the bullring that they had conjured up from food that would otherwise have been thrown away. This stand is really worth a visit, they have lots of valuable information on reducing food waste, composting etc.
Along with the other main areas, Selskar had really and truly come alive this afternoon.
Lunch was also had in Selskar. The kids opted for sausages, as they do. Mr. Simply Homemade opted for venison. Thumbs up all round.
We all had a thoroughly enjoyable day. From the food to the atmosphere, there really is something for everyone at Wexford Food Festival.
